When it comes to choosing a photographer that best fits your needs, there are what seems like a million questions you can ask, but let's be honest; who has the time and the patience for that? Not sure where to start when it comes to interviewing your photographer of choice? Check out my compiled list of GENERAL questions to ask your photographer that will help you narrow down your options! 
 

Basic Q's:

1. Is my preferred date available?

2. If I choose to use your services, what is the process?

3. What is your fee per hour or are there any packages available? What items are included in the original fee? Can I customize my package? (This is a good opportunity to figure out whether or not you'll be charged extra if your session goes longer than expected and whether or not you can customize the package you want to best suit you)

5. What are the payment plan options for the entire bill and what forms of payment do you accept?

6. How much is the deposit? When is the deposit due? Is the deposit refundable?

7. What is your cancellation policy?

Style & Logistics:

1. How would you describe your photography style in 3 words?

2. What is your working style like? (Is this is a photographer who blends into the background and focuses more on the candid shots or creates a more visible presence by taking charge and setting up shots)

3. If you focus on mostly candid, can I still get formal / posed portraits and vice versa?

4. Do you mind if I give you a list of specific shots we'd like?

Questions To Ask Yourself:

1. Do your personalities vibe?

2. Do you like their photographs?

3. Are you comfortable with this person? 

I know that choosing a photographer can be difficult and incredibly personal, especially with so many options, so I hope these questions make it easier to find a reliable, seasoned, professional shutterbug that you "click" with!
