Pinterest is an overrated yet underrated website. It's profound but one of the greatest tools since Social Media got its initial start. With the opportunity for inspiration, collaboration, and education, it's literally the bee's knees. If you haven't already noticed, I LOVE Pinterest! It's addicting and I could spend hours scrolling through all the different pins.
Planning any kind of event can be overwhelming but Pinterest allows you to collect and store all of your most favorite things in one place. Here is how Pinterest can help you plan any event!
Pure Inspiration
The whole reason I even wanted to do this blog to begin with! Pinterest is FULL of inspiration and has what seems like an endless supply of almost anything you could possibly think of. See something you like somewhere else? No worries! Pinterest allows you to upload your own pins from either your desktop / camera roll or simply by copying and pasting a URL. Inspiration can be found anywhere so pin away and get inspired!
Organization
Organization is KEY! Nothing makes life simpler like having easy access to what inspires you. My recommendation is to create one main board for your event and then create breakout boards or "sections" as you start to get into the smaller details such as decorations, invitations, thank yous..etc. Take a moment to note why you chose to pin that specific image or create a wish list for future events for next time. PLUS! Pinterest makes it easy to delete the pins that you don't necessarily need anymore.
Collaborate
Planning an event with multiple people? Pinterest allows you to invite friends and add them as collaborators to your boards. Share ideas and inspiration with vendors, family, and friends to make your event everything you could ever dream of.
Stay true to you
Please note that although Pinterest has TONS of pins, many of the posts Pinterest have more than likely been carefully orchestrated and ultimately it's up to you to stay true to yourself. Remember to be inspired, and then use that inspiration to make something your own. Embrace it for what it is and enjoy the process of planning your event!
