Wedding Tips & Tricks | 5 Tips on Rescheduling your Wedding

January 11, 2021

2021 came flying in like a bat out of hell and I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for some positivity! As I’m figuring out my wedding, I’m thinking of all the couples who were supposed to get married in 2020 and had to reschedule due to the pandemic. It’s disappointing when you’ve spent so much time planning an event to the fullest, only to postpone it at the last minute. Although there is now a vaccine for the Coronavirus, I know it won’t be the last pandemic our world will have to deal with. So if you have to put your wedding plans to a halt, or just want some tips on rescheduling your day, check out 5 tips on rescheduling your wedding!

Touch Base with your Vendors

This sounds pretty self-explanatory but we need to make note that this is VERY important! Many businesses book several months in advance and you’ll want to reach out and confirm future available dates. Depending on the situation, some vendors will reach out to you, but if they don’t, just send an email, shoot off a text, or make a quick phone call.

Cancel Culture

If you cancel an event, the chances of you getting a refund are slim. Whereas if you reschedule, many vendors will waive their rescheduling fees and you still get to celebrate; especially during a pandemic. You deserve to party how you want and whether it’s now or later, we’d LOVE to be there to celebrate with you!

Flexibility Counts

Simple and sweet, be flexible. As mentioned above many vendors book several months in advance and the dates that they may have available, may not be what you had in mind. If you reschedule your day, keep an open mind, and know that we want to work with you to find a date that will work with both of our schedules.

Notify the Masses

Let people know. Short and to the point. Your guests will need to know all of the new details.

Enjoy the process

From shifting to virtual learning/working to wearing a mask just about everywhere you go, the pandemic brought a whole new experience for everyone. Take a minute to breathe and remember that as frustrating as it may be, you can still have those special moments you’ve always wanted and at the end of the day, you’ll be marrying your best friend, even if it’s later than expected!
